As the weather in the UK is bad at the moment I decided to do some macro shots inside.
I grabbed a bunch of flowers that where on the window and started snapping away.
The whole shoot of about 20 images took me quite a bit longer than I had expected as my
cat kept jumping onto the table and moving the flowers!!

Water Droplets
Various shots of water droplets
All shots where taken with Manual focus,
ISO Low 3 and using Mirror Lock-up and a
remote release.
The water droplets were put onto the rear surface of a CD
and then an angle poised lamp positioned over the
droplets.
Moving the position of the light changed the colours
displayed.

Fly eyes (macro)
Macro image of a fly.
These shots were taken with my new macro lens:
105mm f2/8G IF-ED AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor
As you can see the DOF is extramly small, throwing the
body and legs out of focus and only keeping the eyes in focus.
These shots were all taken handheld and used the Vibration Reduction
function on the lens which really helped as even the smallest bit
of wind moved the subject right out of the frame!
I am hoping to get out on a still day with a tripod to see how
much more crisp I can get images.
I will post up my results as and when I take new pictures.

Rear view of Manor house
Hughenden Manor
On Sunday 7th June I visitied the georgian estate of Hughenden Manor, which was the home of Victorian Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, who lived here from 1848 until his death in 1881. http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-hughendenmanor
The following shots were taken in the areas around the manor house, as well as the church at the bottom of the hill (which is where Benjamin Disraeli is buried).

which has then been converted into black and white.
The shot was taken from the rear of the graveyard towards the church.
